Why are these tanks specified for diesel only?

What will happen if I haul gas or race fuel instead of diesel in the 75 gallon model tank?
Asked by: Anonymous
The transfer tanks are not designed to carry HIGHLY flammable liquids such as gasoline. If you carry those kind of elements, you need to get a permit from the local fire department. The transfer tanks are only designed for diesel fuel.

Can I lift the tank using the hooks when full ?

I bough one of these tanks along with a used bobcat and would like to use it as a storage tank for diesel for the bobcat. I am planning on mounting it temporarily in my pick up , filling it up and then lifting it off the truck using the bobcat. I am putting together a platform to support the bottom using 2x2 tubing.

If the tanks is filled with fuel, we strongly advise against it for safety purposes. If the tank is empty, it can be hoisted but it should not be left hanging for a long time. The two loops for the transfer tank were designed so that the transfer tanks can be hoisted into trucks - not for heavy duty purposes. AT ALL TIMES TRANSFER TANK SHOULD BE EMPTY WHEN TRANSFERING FROM VEHICLE TO VEHICLE.
