PACK RAT® Security & Locks

Built to Protect What You’ve Earned

How secure is PACK RAT?

WEATHER GUARD® PACK RAT® drawer systems are built from reinforced steel and feature a heavy-duty locking latch with 1KEY ULTRALOCK™ compatibility, providing significantly higher theft resistance than plastic or light duty drawer systems.

When your truck is unattended, PACK RAT works to keep your tools where they belong.

Security Built for the Real World

Tools aren’t just equipment—they’re an investment and a reflection of your reputation. PACK RAT security is designed for real jobsite conditions, where vehicles are often parked overnight, left unattended, or exposed to opportunistic theft.
This isn’t consumer grade lockup.
It’s professional grade protection.

Steel Construction: The First Line of Defense

PACK RAT® Advantage

  • 14 gauge reinforced steel drawer and housing
  • 12 gauge steel skids
  • Rigid structure resists prying, bending, and forced entry

Plastic Drawer Systems

  • Easier to flex, crack, or pry open
  • Locks often mounted in plastic housings
  • Reduced resistance once compromised

Security starts with structure. Steel doesn’t give thieves easy leverage—and that matters.

Heavy-duty Latch Design

PACK RAT drawers are secured with a robust latch system designed to:

  • Hold drawers closed during transport
  • Prevent accidental opening on hills or uneven terrain
  • Resist forced entry when locked

When locked, the latch engages tightly, helping protect tools from both movement and theft.

1KEY ULTRALOCK™ Compatibility

PACK RAT is compatible with WEATHER GUARD® 1KEY ULTRALOCK™, allowing one key to operate multiple WEATHER GUARD storage products across a truck or fleet.

Why 1KEY ULTRALOCK™ Matters

  • Fewer keys to manage
  • Faster access on the job
  • Consistent security across storage systems
  • Ideal for fleets and multi vehicle setups

PACK RAT can be keyed to match existing WEATHER GUARD products, including:

  • Saddle boxes
  • All-purpose chests
  • Lo-side boxes
  • Wheel well boxes

Important: Locks can only be coded once. Changing the key code requires lock replacement.

Theft Deterrence by Design

No lock is theft proof—but PACK RAT is built to slow thieves down, increase effort, and reduce opportunity.

Security advantages include:

  • Steel construction instead of plastic
  • Internal latch engagement
  • Tight drawer tolerances
  • Integrated locking system

Most theft is opportunistic. PACK RAT makes your truck a harder target.

Can PACK RAT Be Re-Keyed?

Yes. PACK RAT can be keyed to match other WEATHER GUARD® products using 1KEY ULTRALOCK™.
If a lock needs to be changed after programming, the lock assembly must be replaced.
Registering your PACK RAT allows WEATHER GUARD to retain key code information for easier replacement support if keys are lost.

Lost Keys or Replacement Parts

If keys are lost or a lock needs replacement:

  • Replacement keys and lock assemblies are available
  • Contact your distributor or WEATHER GUARD support
  • Have your model and serial number ready

This ensures the correct components are supplied quickly and accurately.

Security Without Sacrificing Access

PACK RAT security is designed to protect tools without slowing you down.

  • Smooth drawer operation even when locked and loaded
  • One handed access with key
  • No complicated locking procedures

Because security only works if it gets used.
